Introduction
Learning multiplication is an integral part of a child’s primary school education. Once they have mastered multiplication, they gain a solid foundation which will help them through the rest of their schooling. Knowing tables makes learning division, long multiplication, fractions and algebra much easier.
Each lesson consists of:
- Counting in Multiples
- Multiplication and Division Sums
- Flash Cards (download separately)
Learning Multiples of 1 – 12
Counting in multiples:
- You will learn a new multiple in each lesson and practice that as many times as possible.
- Type in your multiples as fast as possible. Use the Tab key to move you to the next block to the right after each multiple. The direction of typing must be from left to right, one line at a time, counting through each multiple from the smallest to the largest, for example: 2, 4, 6, 8, 10… Do not work down, ie: 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4… as this serves no purpose.
- Daily practice will produce optimal results.
- Count in multiples out loud whenever the opportunity arises (Eg: In the car whilst driving).
Multiplication & Division Practices
Learning multiplication & Division:
- Each lesson consists of a number of practices of either multiplication or division of the number for that lesson (0 – 12).
- Each practice is timed and your results are displayed once you have completed a practice. Your incorrect answers are highlighted so you can see where you went wrong.
- You are required to achieve 80% in a practice before you are able to proceed to the next practice. If you do not achieve 80% you will have to do the exercise again until you reach 80%.
- Each lesson also contains revision up to and including the current number you are working on.
Flash Cards
- Download the flash cards available to you.
- You should use these to practice as much as possible.
Completion of Course
You will receive a certificate of completion once you have completed the entire course after your Flash Card practice in Lesson 50.
